To calculate the f-stop needed it does 4 / 1.53 = 2.61 = f/2.6.The calculator will then do the calculation 50 / 1.53 = 32.68 = 33 mm, meaning you would need a lens with a focal length of 33 mm, so the image is equivalent to one formed with a 50 mm full-frame lens.Go to the second section, "35mm full-frame equivalents", and input a focal length of 50 mm and an f-stop of 4.Now the calculator is an APS-C focal length calculator. It’s tough to complain about the customizations, especially since it’s so in-depth, from the pommel of the lightsaber to the antenna on BD-1’s head. My blaster is currently made of Beskar steel and accented with imperial red colors. There are collections, such as Unique Metals, which include iconic imagery like Beskar steel. I love how the paints are delivered in sets. There are tons of outfits, parts and paints you can unlock throughout the game. I had Kestis rolling up to Stormtroopers with a man bun and a full grown beard. You can customize almost everything, including the lightsaber, blaster, BD-1, clothes, face, hair, and more. Ponchos, ponchos, ponchos - sike! The team heard us, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor features all kinds of wonderful customization options. The story can be silly and cliche sometimes, almost as if it’s appealing to someone other than the audience, but overall, I think the core narrative beats are great and I am excited to see where the team takes us next. He was too busy killing younglings for that. It would have been so weird if he randomly just changed it to red. Anakin fights Obi-Wan with a blue lightsaber. A great example of this is the final fight in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. I won’t go into too many details, but the point is, we don’t need to paint our villains red and black for us to know that they’re villains. There’s a moment similar to this later in the story. The entire plot hinges on this moment and it’s such a weak pillar that you could blow it over by looking at it too long. Kestis also acted strange in that encounter there are a dozen of things he could and should have said to avoid a fight but didn’t. ![]() Kestis is just antagonistic toward Dagan’s goal. Even if he forsakes the Jedi Order, he’s not a Sith. Dagan Gera’s motives have nothing to do with the Empire or the Sith, therefore there’s absolutely no reason why he should have a red lightsaber. Dagan Gera has no reason to do this other than to establish to us, the audience, that he’s the villain. In the encounter with Cal Kestis, he fully disassembles his lightsaber and changes his Kyber crystal to red. The introduction to the villain, Dagan Gera, was super weird. There were a few moments that bogged down the narrative for me. Between the acting and the dialogue, I was more invested in Cal Kestis and his squad than I have ever been. Do I think it could have been darker? Yes, but I think everything can be a little darker. The third act is by far my favorite it took me places that I didn’t even know I wanted to go to until I got there. I had my doubts about the narrative in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, especially since I found Fallen Order a bit anticlimactic, but the story ended up hitting me like a bus. Needless to say, I missed a lot of content. There aren’t any useful mechanics in the way of finding loot apart from scouring your map and looking for unexplored paths. Usually, I love running around and collecting all of the loot, but I found it difficult in this game. The worlds are much bigger than they were in the first game, and so there are a lot of collectables around, but I felt a bit overwhelmed. I have a huge respect for developers that let players cheese their way through obstacles, but unfortunately, you can’t do that here. I can’t count how many times I was blocked by an invisible wall or outright killed from a fall that shouldn’t have caused more than a bruised ankle. However, despite how open the world may seem, it’s rather strict with how it wants you to navigate. There are so many new movement abilities now that I find myself discovering creative solutions to combat and puzzle encounters. I like being able to play my own way, but it would've been nice to have access to all of them at any given time.Īnother big improvement is the platforming. The only other stance I could argue for is the double-blade - it’s just too good at dealing with large groups. They were an easy match for my style, and the rest of the stances didn’t get touched after that. Crossguard is slow, but deals heavy damage and is capable of guard-breaking while the blaster stance gives you the benefit of speed and range. Each stance has its own stats detailing its capabilities. ![]() ![]() ![]() (In late August, series creator David Brevik formally announced his intent to neither support nor talk about D2R.) That leads to a question I don't always ask in game reviews: can series fans safely feel excited about a remastered Diablo II in spite of the company that Activision Blizzard has become? ( Vicarious Visions' D2R team lead recently offered an uneasy response to this question: that potential players should "do what they feel is right.Twitch, YouTube & Corsair Partner. They've gone on to make their fair share of Diablo-like "action RPG" classics and experiments without contributing to the culture and allegations we've heard about in recent months. The original sequel was made by one of Blizzard's earliest teams, and most of its creators have long since left Blizzard. StarCraft: Remastered did nearly the exact same thing in 2017- quite well, in fact!-while WC3R botched this in part because of how it tried applying the same formula in 3D. The original graphics would be accessible with a gimmicky button tap whenever players want. The pitch: take the original 2D game, leave its code base (mostly) intact, and slap high-def, 3D polish on top while leaving the original graphics and code running at all times. Vicarious Visions was also tasked with a potential slam-dunk follow-up: a faithful remake of 2000's Diablo II. This long-time Activision support studio was absorbed by Blizzard in 2020 to help fix the very, very bad reputation that the Blizzard Classic division earned in the wake of WC3R. So far, the past two months of legal maneuvering haven't filtered down to the satellite studios that Activision contracted with-which brings us to Vicarious Visions. One day later, Activision Blizzard's chief legal officer stepped down from her role at the company. On Monday of this week, the SEC announced its own investigation of both the company's disclosures and the allegations of sexual harassment and abuse, complete with subpoenas for many of the company's leaders (including CEO Bobby Kotick). ![]() (The departures aren't just physical, either-Blizzard also plans to edit existing games to remove in-game references to the men in question.)ĪctiBlizz shareholders subsequently filed their own lawsuit in August. One part of the investigation led to the notorious "Cosby Suite," operated by disgraced ex- World of WarCraft team lead Alex Afrasiabi. Other public stories and allegations soon followed, including from women who outed themselves as witnesses and accusers in the state investigation. The lawsuit also described over a dozen specific allegations of unequal pay and blocked promotions across the wider Activision Blizzard corporate family. The suit claimed that women at the company faced abuse, harassment, and an across-the-board pay disparity. Lawsuits, departures, and editsĪ sweeping lawsuit filed by a California state agency exploded in late July, naming names and describing a toxic "frat boy" culture throughout Blizzard. Still, as a mega-fan of the original Diablo II, I remained hopeful-until about two months ago, when the above list of missteps was eclipsed by even grimmer developments. So long-time Blizzard fans like myself are understandably skeptical that Diablo II: Resurrected might see the company return to form. Worse, since WC3R's launch, months of agonizing silence about any updates and promised features have spoken volumes about Blizzard's apparent lack of plans for the game. Months later, Blizzard shipped WarCraft III: Reforged, which did not meet the publisher's usual standards (especially because WC3R wiped out the previous functioning game in favor of a broken, feature-incomplete client). In late 2019, the decades-old game developer capitulated to the Chinese government over pro-Hong Kong statements made by esports players (though thankfully, the decision was reversed soon after).
